Cool Terra gets USDA BioPreferred certified

Cool Planet Energy Systems’ Cool Terra Engineered Biocarbon recently earned a USDA Certified Biobased Product Label, which fulfills all federal purchasing requirements for biobased products through the USDA BioPreferred program.

Cool Terra supports soil health and plant growth by naturally increasing the water holding capacity of most soils, improving nutrient efficiency at the root level and nurturing microbial growth, the company says in a news release.

Cool Planet’s proprietary detoxifying and treatment process for Cool Terra removes toxins, residues and cleaning pores, and adjusts key soil health properties of the material so water and nutrients are retained better at the root level.

“The resulting engineered biocarbon is a unique material that produces consistent and reliable results for many applications in the agriculture industry,” Cool Planet says.

Through the USDA BioPreferred program, all biobased amount claims are verified by independent labs and monitored by the USDA.
