Greenfields installs first all-blue field

July 16, 2015  - By

Greenfields USAgreendfield_vanguard has installed its first navy blue field at The Vanguard School in Colorado Springs, Colo., which was recently ranked the 16th “Top Academic High School in America” by Newsweek.

“The field is a wonderful addition to our school and has been getting constant rants and raves from players and fans,” says Pat Agee, The Vanguard School’s facilities manager. “With the color of the field and our location off Interstate 25, we have received a lot of attention for the school.”

Students assisted in determining the color, voting for the color navy blue over green. The field is part of a $1.6 million project for the school, including the synthetic turf field, track, lights and more.

Academy Sports Turf installed the GreenFields SlideMax XP synthetic turf system which the company says features high resilience, comfort and safety. The install project was completed in April.

“So far we have experienced a fairly wet summer but with the excellent drainage of the field we have not had to cancel any games,” Agee says.
