Turface Athletics reveals 2014 My Turface Story winner

March 2, 2015  - By

turface_wv_winnerTurface Athletics has announced the winner of its 2014 My Turface Story promotion as Dale Miller,  director of field maintenance for the Taylor County Little League in Grafton, W.Va.

The contest is designed to reward members of the sports field industry for turning to Turface products to save or maintain a field.

My Turface Story asked field managers, coaches and volunteers to share the ways in which Turface products have improved their sports fields, saved a game from a rainout, helped them solve problems or made their jobs easier. Every entrant received a free Turface Athletics t-shirt and tape measure for entering.

Miller won the grand prize package of 4 tons of Turface product and $500 to purchase field maintenance supplies.

“After years of dealing with a hard, wet, soggy and unsafe playing surface, we decided to do something to make a better, safer playing surface,” Miller says. “After much research, we purchased 5 tons of Pro League Red and we incorporated it into our playing surface. Three days into our season, it rained pretty hard. The field was in excellent shape — no standing water or muddy spots. Just a playing surface that was ready for the kids.”

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2015 My Turface Story promotion. If Turface products have helped improve your field, submit your story. All entrants will receive a free Turface Athletics t-shirt and tape measure, and one lucky person will win 4 tons of Turface product and $500 to purchase field maintenance supplies.

“Turface Athletics has a long history of educating and rewarding sports field managers, coaches and volunteers to keep fields of any size safe and playable for the athletes using them,” says Jeff Langner, brand manager for Turface Athletics. “We want those customers who put Turface products to the test to share their story and be rewarded.”
