Bobcat Co. has entered the turf market with a 21-machine lineup of Bobcat zero-turn mowers for both the residential and commercial markets. These include both zero-turn (ZT) sit-on and zero-turn stand-on mowers (ZS).

During the virtual product launch, Mike Ballweber, president, Doosan Bobcat North America, said the addition of these zero-turn mowers creates a one-stop-shop for Bobcat customers.

“Our goal is to offer a full suite of Bobcat products because we know you have a wide variety of jobs to do,” he said. “Expanding into zero-turn mowers is a perfect next step for us and our customers.”

The new zero-turn mowers join compact track loaders, compact excavators, skid-steer loaders, compact tractors, utility products, small articulated loaders and mini track loaders in the lineup of Bobcat products.

Bobcat zero-turn mowers will be manufactured in Johnson Creek, Wis. They will be distributed through select Bobcat dealerships in the U.S. and parts of Canada.

Zero-turn mower models

Bobcat offers an extensive lineup of zero-turn mowers to meet residential and commercial customer needs. Models vary in engine, horsepower, deck width, and fuel capacity. These include:

  • ZT3500
  • ZS4000
  • ZT6000
  • ZT6100

The ZT7000, ZT6000 and ZT 61000 are available in deck withs of 52 inches to 72 inches. The ZS4000 has four different deck sizes, ranging from 36 inches up to 61 inches. The ZT3500 has deck widths of 41 inches to 61 inches.

Available on the new ZS4000 through ZT7000 zero-turn mowers is the AirFX cutting system, with a deep profile and bullnose design which helps lift the grass to the blade, and it creates a powerful vacuum for a razor-sharp, uniform cut and pristine finish.

“The deep deck design gives you a full vacuum lift of that grass to lift that grass straight up for a great cut,” Ron Scheffler, senior product manager, Bobcat Company, said during the launch event. “The air gap baffles that are underneath – they’re bolted on so they’re easily replaceable, and the gaps in between the baffles allow a greater airflow which also gives you a greater dispersion outside the deck and a cleaner deck at the end of the day.”

The new Bobcat zero-turn mowers come with Kawasaki or Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine.

The zero-turn mowers also come with the heavy-duty Hydro-Gear transmission, which features hydrostatic transaxles to quickly and efficiently power through the most challenging turf conditions. The pump and motor are housed together in a single sealed housing for better durability and reduced maintenance.

Scheffler said the second speed of the Hydro-Gear transmission will allow the mower to reach speeds of up to 19 mph.

The rugged, roto-molded dual fuel tanks on the commercial models – ZT3500 through ZT7000 – which hold up to 15 gallons.
