Hellas extends partnership with the Houston Texans and NRG Stadium

Hellas recently announced a six-year extension of its partnership with the Houston Texans and NRG Stadium.

We are excited to contribute to the team’s success by delivering a world-class playing surface that meets the highest standards of performance and safety.”

As the turf partner of the Houston Texans, Hellas installed its Matrix Helix Turf system at NRG Stadium before the Texans’ first pre-season game. This same system also exists at the Texans’ Houston Methodist Training Center.

Hellas has also recently installed its fields at the facilities of several other NFL teams, including the Tennessee Titans, Washington Commanders and Jacksonville Jaguars. In addition to its work with NFL teams, in 2022 Hellas installed a new soccer field at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and worked to expand the football practice facility at Iowa State University.

Owned by Harris County, NRG Stadium is used year-round for a variety of events, including the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. The three-week event includes nightly professional rodeo and concert events held inside NRG Stadium. In the spring of 2023, NRG was also home to the NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Being a multi-use stadium requires the installation of new turf each football season. As part of their partnership with the Texans and Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation (HCSCC), Hellas transported and installed the turf used at NRG Stadium during the 2022-2023 season at a Houston-area youth facility.
