PGMS elects new president and board members at 2023 awards celebration

At its 2023 Annual Awards Celebration on Oct. 19, the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) elected and installed Roger Conner, CGM, of Duke University in Durham, N.C., as its new president.

Elections include:

• President-Elect: Michael Gildea, CGM, Chevy Chase (Md.) Club.
• Vice President: Donald Bottger, CGM, San Diego (Calif.) Convention Center.
• Treasurer: Vincent Jagodzinski, CGM, Stanley Black & Decker Outdoor, Valley City, Ohio, as treasurer.

Newly-elected regional directors include:

• Northeast Regional Director: Dallas Cott, CGM, Slippery Rock (Penn.) University
• North Central Regional Director: Phil Richey, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind.
• Northwest Regional Director: Christopher Hall, CGT, Richland (Wash.) School District
• Southeast Regional Director: Jimmy Viars, CGM, Gloucester (Va.) County Public Schools
• South Central Regional Director: Aaron Martinez, CGM, CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital, Tyler, Texas
• Southwest Regional Director: Sandra Obenour-Dowd, the University of Arizona, Tucson

The Directors at Large include:

• Brandon Haley, CGM, SSC Services for Education in Moody, Ala.
• Bill Quade, CGM, the Biltmore Estate, Asheville, N.C.
• Bedia Collins, CGM, CGT, Fayette County Board of Education, Lexington, Ky.

Roger Phelps of Stihl in Virginia Beach, Va., and Joel Spies of Rainbow Ecosciece in Minnetonka, Minn., will serve as supplier member representatives. Kelly Kopp of Utah State University in Logan, Utah is the educator representative.
