SideKick USA units used to install World Cup turf

April 18, 2019  - By

SideKick USA sold two of its John Deere 1025 units to Urban Concepts Design, a company hired by Aspire Sports Turf to install the turf at the Al Wakhra Stadium, the future home of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Using the two units, Urban Concepts Design installed the entire playing surface — about 9,300 sq. yds. — in 9 hours and 15 minutes. It was a record-setting time for the fastest laying of turf for a football pitch, according to the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the body responsible for delivering the infrastructure required to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
