Synthetic Turf Council names 2021-22 board of directors, award winners

The Synthetic Turf Council (STC) named its 2021-2022 board of directors and doled out awards at its annual membership meeting.

The Synthetic Turf Council (STC) named its 2021-22 board of directors at its annual membership meeting in Tucson, Ariz.

For the 2021-2022 term, the board officers are:

  • Chairman, Todd DeWolfe, AstroTurf VP of business development and research
  • Vice-chairman, Mark Klementti, R.K. Associates sports field consultant
  • Secretary, Holli Durchik, Foresite Design project manager
  • Treasurer, Shaun Garrity, USGreentech national sales manager
  • Director-at-large, Terra Erickson, Sportsfield Specialties sales manager
  • Immediate past chairman, Laith Ross RossTarrant Architects senior principal

The board of directors includes:

  • Thomas Boehme, Genan CEO
  • Ed Norton, HNP partner
  • Eric O’Donnell, Sports Labs U.K. managing director
  • Shannan Powell, ForeverLawn of Tampa Bay senior manager
  • Larry Ridgeway, PrecisionJet/TurfBond president and CEO
  • Matt Ross, Shaw Sports Turf regional vice president
  • Thomas Shay, Woodard & Curran principal

The fourth annual STC Awards Ceremony winners included:

  • Lifetime Achievement: Tom Peeples, Universal Textile Technologies
  • Volunteer of the Year: George Neagle, SYNLawn
  • Rookie of the Year: Davis McDougal, SYNLawn
  • Innovator: Sports Labs Ltd.
  • Philanthropy: SYNLawn
  • Sustainability: Act Global
  • Landscape Project of the Year – Commercial: SYNLawn – City Square
  • Landscape Project of the Year – Recreation: Controlled Products/Synthetic Turf International – Hunter Park
  • Landscape Project of the Year – Residential: SYNLawn – Michigan Residential Wetlands
  • Sports Project of the Year – Single Field more than 75,000 square feet: Act Global – Bradenton Christian School
  • Sports Project of the Year – Multi-Field: SYNLawn – IN Children’s Museum

The 2022 STC Annual Membership Meeting is Oct. 17-19 in Washington D.C.
