The Andersons expands Indiana facility to manufacture professional turf products

November 7, 2019

The Andersons will expand its plant nutrient manufacturing facility in Seymour, Ind. This expansion will allow the facility to produce fertilizers and combination products for the professional turf market.

Currently, the Seymour facility operates as a fertilizer granulation plant and nutrient storage location.

Representatives from The Andersons say this expansion will increase its capabilities through the installation of a fertilizer blending and impregnation production line and additional warehousing for raw materials and finished goods. The company also says the Seymour expansion will better serve professional turf customers in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and additional markets to the south.

“Logistics can be a big expense in the professional turf market. Expanding the capabilities of the Seymour facility, from production to warehousing and shipping, allows us to extend our reach further south while saving these customers both time and money,” Chuck Anderson, vice president of sales for The Andersons Plant Nutrient Group said.

The plant is located near I-65 and 280 miles southwest of The Andersons’ main production facility in Maumee, Ohio.

Construction is expected to be completed in time to ship turf products for the spring 2020 season.
