What to expect at the 2024 SFMA Conference and Exhibition

The Sports Field Management Association Conference and Exhibition is set for Jan. 22-25 in Daytona Beach, Fla., and offers sports field managers networking and educational opportunities.

Speakers confirmed for the conference include:

  • Rob Sikma, groundskeeper at the LA Memorial Coliseum
  • Travis Hogan, head groundskeeper for the Kansas City Chiefs
  • Leah Withrow, head groundskeeper for the Reno Aces
  • Mike Goatley, Ph.D., turfgrass specialist at Virginia Tech University

In addition to educational seminars, hands-on workshops and the latest technology on display, conference attendees can tour professional, college and municipal facilities that offer a range of insights to take back home. Sports field managers can also earn up to 1.5 continuing education units (CEUs) at the conference this year.

In addition to SFMA, the following professional organizations may be providing CEUs for attending education sessions at the conference:

  • American Sports Builders Association (ASBA)
  • National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)
  • Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) – Pending approval
  • Irrigation Association (IA)
  • Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS)
  • National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP)
