TPI appoints new president at annual meeting

Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) appointed Eddie Keeven Jr. of Emerald View Turf Farm in O’Fallon, Miss., to the 2014-15 president of the association, effective July 30.

The announcement was made during the TPI’s Annual Business Meeting on July 30 in Philadelphia.

Keeven and his family have been active members of TPI for more than three decades. During that time, his father, Ed Keeven Sr., and his brother, Tom Keeven, both served on the TPI board. Tom was TPI’s president from 2001-02. Eddie Jr., served on the TPI board of trustees from 1987-90 and as vice president from 2013-14.

Keeven has been involved in numerous turf industry related organizations including the Mississippi Valley Golf Course Superintendents Association (GCSA), Landscape Nurserymen’s Association of St. Louis, the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) and he is a past president of the Gateway Sod Growers Association.
