Dakota State University replaces grass playing fields with soy-based turf
Dakota State University in Madison, S.D., is building a new athletic complex with a new soybean-based turf in replace of grass playing fields.
Using soybean-based turf allows the university to support the local farming community and costs about the same as traditional turf surfaces.
The university will welcome agricultural leaders, producers and businesses to observe its new soy-based athletic complex during its Ag Bowl football game on Aug. 31.
