Irrigation Association names Alan Ence to its board of directors
The Irrigation Association added Alan Ence, QWEL, general manager of landscape and agriculture at Hydro-Rain, to its board of directors.
Ence has spent more than 30 years in the irrigation industry, working in multiple areas including product development, business development and management. He is named on multiple U.S. patents for products in the field of irrigation. Ence is a 1995 graduate of Weber State University in Odgen, Utah, and earned certification as a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper in California in 2022.
“Alan has an unwavering commitment and expertise in the irrigation industry,” said IA CEO Natasha Rankin, MBA, CAE. “His experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals continues the IA’s objective to expand the perspectives that enrich our board’s value and decisions.”
Throughout his career, Ence has had the opportunity to work with a variety of irrigation and water professionals in the industry. These professionals include landscape irrigation contractors, landscape architects, water managers, municipalities, distribution businesses and most recently farm managers and dealers.
“I have seen where there is much opportunity for spreading the IA’s programs, education and influence to positively benefit all levels of the industry,” Ence said. “Being an effective advocate for the IA to these industry channels to help the whole community is motivating to me.”
Ence joins 14 other members who serve on the IA Board. The IA Board of Directors establishes the association’s strategic direction, policies and programs. Directors are elected by members of the association and represent the diversity of member types and market segments.
