Petco Park floods after massive storm hits San Diego
Now that’s not something you see everyday, especially not in Southern California.

Petco Park, home to the San Diego Padres, flooded after a winter rain storm hit San Diego.
San Diego Padres spokeswoman Shana Wilson told Fox 5 the rain had fallen so quickly the drainage was slow to keep up.
Now on normal occasions, the drainage systems can handle this amount of water. But it was not business as usual when the storm hit because there was no turf actually on the field.
The grass had been removed to accommodate a monster truck event on Feb. 18, and crews were in the process of re-sodding the field when the rain poured down, SB Nation reported.
Rain delay @PetcoPark,don’t get to say that often in SoCal! Amendments tilled in, graded, and sod underway! #rains @Padres @SimplotPartners pic.twitter.com/PrAS8kMbt0

Field crews do not anticipate any damage from the standing water, according to Fox 5.
