MTC Horticulture Co. logoSierra Natural Science and MTC Horticulture Co., organic pest control manufacturer and distributor, respectively, teamed up to develop Weed Rot, a natural herbicide product.

“This is the missing piece to the puzzle that will allow anyone to not to have to use a synthetic herbicide,” said Tom Carrasco, president and CEO of MTC Horticulture Co. “Before Weed Rot, it was very important for many reasons to not use synthetic herbicides, but not cost effective for many. Now it is.”

A systemic nonselective herbicide, Weed Rot falls under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) 25(b) Exemption and isn’t required to carry an EPA registration number or a signal word. The product first strips the weed’s waxy cuticle, allowing the natural chemistry to penetrate the leaves, stem and roots, killing the weed for good.

Weed Rot is available in 1-, 5-, 30- and 250-gallon options.
