The NRPA announces theme for Park and Recreation Month

 

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) announces “We Rise Up for Parks and Recreation” as the theme for this year’s Park and Recreation Month.

Since 1985, July has been tabbed as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month.

According to the NRPA, this year’s theme brings attention to how important it is to rise up and support the parks and recreation field, thanking professionals for their work in service of equity, climate readiness and community health.

The NRPA also encourages professionals to “rise up” by reaching out to their elected officials to recognize the essential nature of parks and recreation.
