The new Toro Outcross 9060 multipurpose vehicle received the 2018 Innovation Medal from the Federal Association of Garden, Landscape and Sports Facilities (BGL). Toro received this honor during the 23rd annual GaLaBau trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany.

The GaLaBau Evaluation Committee selected the Toro Outcross 9060 based on its ease of use, its turf-friendly footprint and its intelligent assistance system. The machine can be pre-programmed with key settings for different attachments to reduce the possibility of operator error.

“We are honored to have the Toro Outcross 9060 selected for this award from such a large number of other worthy innovations,” says Rasto Nichta, director of The Toro Co.’s Equipment Business in Europe. “It’s the perfect way to highlight the many ways this product can enhance customers’ productivity.”

The vehicle was among 16 products to receive the award, which recognizes manufacturers that have developed new and advanced solutions for the construction and maintenance of landscaped areas.

“The Toro Outcross 9060 was designed to do the work of several machines in one,” explains Micha Moerder, sales manager, The Toro Co. in Germany. “It combines the benefits of a tractor, a utility vehicle and much more. The universal mounting plate is compatible with many standard turf maintenance attachments, including loader buckets, forks, pull-behind rotary mowers, fertilizer spreaders and aerators, so the Outcross can be used to perform tasks all year long.”

Another key feature of the Toro Outcross 9060 is its controlled four-wheel steering/four-wheel drive system. This system allows each wheel to turn and spin independently at a rate determined by the machine’s ground speed and turning angle for traction, while minimizing damage to turf. The balanced design eliminates the need for front counterweights.

The international GaLaBau Trade Fair focuses on planning, construction and maintenance of urban and green spaces, sports fields, golf courses and playgrounds.
